It seems like the trial considering the proprietorship of iPad trademark between Proview from Taiwan and Apple is abating due to the Chinese court. Zhao Le from international department of Guandong’s Higher People’s Court said they were making attempts both to continue assize and to arrange the difference. Roger Xie, a lawyer who works for Proview announced the trial is on the way to be settled with the help of court.
Apple has bought the iPad trademark with the help of a dormant corporation and now the discussions over Proview’s rights to use it are urgent. Yang Rongshan, a head of Provew, said Apple has to pay until February to use a trademark and to gain entire rights considering it.
Proview has a debt and because of it compensation from Apple will be a good help for them. Minsheng Bank has been monitoring this case since 2009 and it might help the Chinese company receive a reasonable compensation.
According to market analytics, if Proview wins the trial, China will face huge problems. The country’s goodwill will be damaged, the investors will not arrive and people can even be asked not to buy products from China. In addition, Apple manufacturing will nor be situated in China anymore.
A new version of Pad is soon to be released in China. Chances are the great amount of people working on its production will be disappointed if they lose their source of income. Upper-class Chinese might be also upset if Apple devices vanish from their market. Chinese officials have thought about these questions, they have called it a campaign of establishing relations between public and government. So the trademark issue might be settled down in the nearest future.
