Asus Eee Pad Slider Review
The previous tablet in the market that had somewhat the same effect was the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and it was quite unique in its own way. Much like its elder brother the Asus Eee Pad Transformer stands out in what it can do and others probably can’t just yet.
The Asus Eee Pad is a classic slider, to be clear, it’s the tablet-like device is capable of sliding its screen upwards to reveal a conveniently placed keyboard under it. The slide function, however, may not be the best attribute associated with this device. The similarity between the Asus Transformer and the Asus Slider in this case is that in a way they found their own niche in the market.
Apart from this, Asus didn’t go out of their way to load it up with some really impressive specs and features.The software is top of the line with Android 3.1 installed which can be bumped up to 3.2 with the internet connection. That said, like most tablets it comes with 802.11n Wireless capability and a Bluetooth connection. This is a key feature as the android world opens endless features and possibilities for a device of this kind. Asus Eee Pad Slider packs a 1 GHz NVidia Tegra 2 processor with 1 GB of RAM to help it multi task smoothly to a certain extent.
Asus Eee Pad Slider comes in a 16 GB and a 32 GB model, howeve,r if more memory is required there is always the Micro SD Slot. The screen is large enough at 12.1 inches and 1280 x 800 pixel quality, which is not the worst or the best.
Because of the way it is designed the size and weight remains a constant drawback. The keyboard is connected to screen through a ribbon which gives the Slider a not-so-classy look however the finish on the body and the keyboard makes up for this fact to a certain extent. The front displays a glossy black finish. The Eee Pad Slider houses a 5.0 megapixel camera which grinds out decent results. The slide remains a weak point with and since this is what sets it apart most users aren’t sure what to make of the Eee Pad Slider. That said, it is still very functional and has great value for the price.
