It was reported that Apple Inc. has been forced to reduce orders for some components, which are necessary to produce the iPhone 5 due to a weakening demand for its flagship device. The American company, according to the Nikkei, has decided to cut orders for LCD screens and some other parts in half.

Apple has informed Japan Display, Sharp as well as LG Display to reduce their supplies of LCD screens for the iPhone 5 by approximately half of the total initial orders of around 65 million units for the first quarter of the year.
