SE complains about the complexity of adaptation with Android ICS

The release of an Android 4.0 excited the audience which has become interested in whether products already presented in the market receive appropriate program update, and vendors to paid attention to this issue and reacted quickly. Motorola promised to release ICS update in one and a half month after release of the final OS version, the HTC offers a new firmware download for several smart phones in the beginning of 2012, Sony Ericsson (SE) will be ready to release a software in March. It is interesting that the last vendor already now began to speak about complexities which should face its experts.

NVIDIA Company officially declared provision of the source code of new CUDA compiler on the basis of LLVM to researchers and developers of software tools. It is made to simplify adding of GPU support in larger number of programming languages and to ensure functioning of CUDA applications on alternative processor architecture.
Let us remind that LLVM is a widespread infrastructure of the compiler with the open code, having a modular structure which simplifies adding modern languages support for programming and processor architecture. It is used for solving different tasks in many leading companies, including Adobe, Apple, Cray and Electronic Arts. Thus CUDA compiler on the basis of LLVM is included in the CUDA Toolkit (v4.1) last version, already accessible to users.
Thus, CUDA programming model gives performance improvement tools on many types of processors, including GPU from AMD and x86 Intel chips. The company supposes that appearance of new alternative approaches to heterogeneous parallel systems programming in order to solve specific tasks and to future programming models creation will accelerate the implementation of supercomputer calculations.
Opening the source code of CUDA compiler and a format of internal representation, NVIDIA allows researchers to apply more flexibly CUDA programming model to other architecture that promotes appearance of more powerful following generation computing platforms. Scientists-researchers and developers of software tools can get access to CUDA compiler source code, after they register on the site.
Mozilla Company is developing an application platform with cross-browser support

According to the information presented in Mozilla Labs blog, the community works on rather interesting initiative that has a symbolical title Mozilla Labs Apps Project. The final goal of this project that is meanwhile staying at Developer Preview stage, apparently, is to create a platform for browser applications which can work in any Internet browser supporting them. Tools for development and creation similar applications will be soon released.
