The Microsoft can delete Windows 8 applications remotely

The Microsoft as well as Apple and Google can use «kill switch» function to switch off or even to delete Metro-applications from the devices working under Windows 8 OS. The company has informed about it in the documentation, concerning future Windows Store.

«Kill switch» is a simple command spread in shops of mobile applications that allows deactivating or even deleting applications remotely. It is known that Apple and Google already have an opportunity to use similar functions for the applications spread in App Store and Android Market accordingly.
Under the conditions of Windows Store usage the Microsoft Corporation clearly specified that, it can disconnect or delete applications from computers of users: «In cases when your safety is under the threat or we do it on legal grounds, there is a probability that you cannot start applications or get access to a content acquired earlier». It is also told that in cases if the user paid for such application, money will be returned. It is underlined that the data created by it can be deleted together with application.
It is necessary to mark that three years ago the head of Apple Steve Jobs confirmed existence of similar functionality in an App Store, however the company haven’t yet started to use it. Programs from an Apple application store disappeared, but they were not deleted automatically from devices of users. Google, however, sometimes deletes applications from Android smart phones when the malicious code is found in them.
